I don’t know why I like this photo so much – I think it’s the juxtaposition of the rustic wishing well against the backdrop of Beast’s elegant castle. It illustrates just how far Belle travels in her story: from village life to a life of adventure “in the great wide somewhere.”

While we’ve run shots of Beast’s Castle before, this is the first time we’ve seen it from the perspective of someone standing on the ground within New Fantasyland. Very cool.

  • Hi Jennifer,

Thank you so much for sharing these news with us. I’m plannig to go on May 2013 and I am very happy and excited for knowing that a very large portion is set to open by then.

    • Sounds great, Franco!

  • I’m confused, that looks like Prince Eric’s castle in the background with the red rooftops, I know the Beast’s castle color scheme is dark blue-grey with darker roof tiling. Am I way off and need my eyes checked?

    • Nope – it is Beast’s Castle. 🙂

  • Will “Be Our Guest” be a character dining experience? Thanks!!

    • I don’t have any info on this yet. There will be a character meet-and-greet experience at Enchanted Tales With Belle, which will be located nearby.

  • Thank-you Jennifer for doing this weekly update!! I love it!! Do you know if “Be Our Guest” will be a character meal for dinner? I am very anxiously waiting to make a reservation at the restaurant during our Dec 20-24 trip.

    • Thanks, Debra. While you can’t make reservations yet, remember that lunchtime is a quick-service meal, so you don’t need reservations for that time of day. Dinner will be a table-service meal (for which I’d suggest having reservations).

  • Hello Jennifer,

New Fantasyland is going to look truly amazing once complete! Do you know if the new Fantasyland will all be complete by the end of 2012? My family is planning to go in early 2013.
    Thanks! Theresa

    • A very large portion is set to open this holiday season that includes: Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Be Our Guest Restaurant, Gaston’s Tavern, and Ariel’s Grotto. Keep in mind that Princess Fairytale Hall is set for 2013, and The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for 2014.

  • This looks amazing. Jennifer, thanks for much for these updates!

  • I love these pictures–I’m so excited about this new area!!

  • We are booked to come the week after Thanksgiving – any word on Restaurant or castle(s) opening by then? Who should we call about booking the restaurant? Great picture!

    • Robert – No word yet. I promise I’ll share the news here and on Twitter as soon as I know.

  • The peeks that you give us only make our cravings that much stronger, but I suppose that’s the point! Looking forward to 2013 and beyond. Hope the weather holds out during hurricane season so that construction may continue uninterrupted!

Thanks for the “perspective” (a la Anton Ego)

  • I, too, would love to know when we can make reservations for January 2013. I know it’s more than 180 days away, but I haven’t even been able to make lodging reservations online yet. I absolutely must eat at the “Be Our Guest” restaurant (it looks completely fabulous!), and so I just can’t wait to make our reservation! Thanks for all the wonderful updates!

    • You can’t make reservations yet, but keep in mind that lunchtime is quick-service, so you don’t need reservations. Dinner is a table-service meal, for which it would be helpful to have a reservation.

  • JENNIFER THANK YOU FOR ALL THE AMAZING PHOTO’S AND UPDATES!
I’m planning to visit the beginning of Oct. and Im hoping and wishing that the new fantasyland will be open! Especially Ariel’s ride! *crossing fingers*

  • Do you know when we can make reservations for “Be our guest restaurant” Our family is traveling down to Disney in the beginning of January – 2013. And can’t wait to start making dining reservations. 🙂

  • Will will be going to Disney in October. What can we expect to be open at that time? I’m hoping they consider Halloween to be “around the hoildays”!!!

  • Just looking at these photos every week make the Holidays not so far away! Thank you for the photos again Jennifer and please tell the Imagineers we appreciate their hard work!

    • I absolutely will do that. Thank you!

  • Can’t wait!!!

  • Do you know if the village fountain is there?? I just want to sit on it with a book and sing, “OOOOOOH isn’t this amazing. It’s my favorite part because, you see……”

    • Ha! I love that part, David.

  • Hi Jennifer, My 4 year old recently told Make-A-Wish that she wants to go to Beast’s Castle!! We’re hoping to come down to Disney around or shortly after Thanksgiving. We’re VERY excited!! Thanks for all the updates on your blog.

    • Andrew – That’s a wonderful wish! All we’ve been told for opening dates are “holidays 2012.” I hope your family has a great time.
